Esports BAR took place in Cannes, inside the iconic Palais des Festivals venue from 13 to 15 October. It was a rather special experience as it was participants’ first significant opportunity in almost two years to interact in real life, after the current global Covid-19 pandemic forced live events to shut down globally.

The Esports BAR organisers welcomed several hundred attendees from 215-plus companies in more than 50 countries.

Among those present were esports organisations, leagues and teams; media companies; endemic and non-endemic consumer brands; and the video-game publishers seeking next-generation avenues to exploit their hot in-demand intellectual properties. And the 2,000-plus business meetings arranged featured a rare chance to meet financial investors, including Scandinavian entertainment giant MTG, as well as venture-capital financiers France’s Trust Esport Ventures and UK-based Hiro Capital.
